The Plot: Britney is a narrator of a play showing the life of a very famous Hollywood actress named Lucky. Lucky is a very famous actress, who has everything but happiness. When Britney presents Lucky we see a big billboard with a picture of Lucky on it. Lucky lives in a very rich mansion, she is very beautiful, many people work for her, but she is distressed. Through this scene, the narrator Spears also sits above in the stars, throwing down glittery sparkles. Then we see Lucky having her make-up put on and then at the Academy Awards accepting her Oscar. The host of the show presents her: "Best actress and the winner is Lucky". She looks happy when she accepts the Oscar, but it is not true happiness. As she makes her way away from her screaming fans and back into her limo, she catches a glimpse of the narrator Spears in the crowd, and also becomes distressed again. The video ends with Lucky crying herself to sleep, her make-up already stained. The curtains close, the video ends.

The Facts:
- Britney plays Lucky and herself at the same time;
- The video was presented in the "Making The Video"show on MTV;
- The shootings took 2 days, instead of 3. The crew had to cut of the schedule because Britney had to fly to see Jamie Lynn on her dancing competitions in Kentwood, Louisiana;
- Nathan James plays a handsome guy in a video;
- This video was made in a style of 40-50s movie with many special effects;
-  The first video in which Spears wears faux-fur-lined robes and Veronica-Lake-style hair.

Mistakes in the Video:
- Watch "Lucky" until the end when you see the character Lucky lying on her bed. Her mascara has left a tear trail on her cheek. Technically from the way that she was lying on her bed, the tear would have traveled to the inside corner of her eye and traveled over the bridge of her nose, not straight down her cheek as the trail of mascara suggests.

Britney about the video: "Lucky is about a girl, a young actress, winning all awards. Many people surround her, but she has no time for herself. She is very lonely. I look at everything as a ghost."

Britney about working with David Meyers: "He is very funny, he's a sweetheart. He puts his soul into every detail of the work."
Dave Meyers about working with Britney: "Britney is sweet and I wanted to work with her, to make something for her. It's an interesting collaboration, because Britney wanted to grown up and this is the first video of grown Britney. On the concept of the song she must play two different characters, so I divided Britney into two different personalities".
