The Plot: Britney Spears sits in a classroom, intensely bored. When the bell rings, she runs out into the hall and begins a choreographed dance. All students are dreassed-up in a catholic school uniforms, added with knee-highs and tied shirts. Dancing and singing Britney begins to tell her love story.
We get out to the school playground, where Britney already changed her school uniform in to athletic outfit. There she performs a number of gymnastic moves and sits in a pink car before heading back inside the school.
After this we see Britney on her P.E. lesson. She is sitting on the bleachers watching a basketball game and looking at the guy she loves. Then suddenly the bell rings again letting Britney know that everything was just a daydream. Britney sits in a boring class again...

History: The basic plot involved Britney as a superhero, a comic-strip blend of Power Rangers and Warrior Princess. Britney hated this idea, she thought it was a terrible way to reach the group of people they were hoping for - teenagers. Britney said she didn't want to be some kind of Power Ranger and she came up with a better idea, which we see now.

- Nigel Dick had chosen Vinece High School, which as Ryedell High, which had been the location for the "Greese" movie with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John;
- Felicia Culotta, Britney's personal assistant and friend, was given a role of the teacher in the classroom.
- Video shot in June of 1998;
- Britney had 2 weeks to rehearse before the cameras started rolling, but they had just 2 days for learning the dancing moves;
- "..Baby One More Time" took three days to film;
- The video became an instant hit on MTV and other music channel vehicles, and eventually became her first video to retire on "TRL";

Video Mistakes:
- As Britney is dancing around the basketball court; her and her dancers join hands at a certain point in their routine. In between the ground level view and the overhead view of this; without seeing them move; their position changes from being outside the centre circle to inside the centre circle. At the same time, the colour of the vest of the man holding Britney's right hand changes from white to blue.

Britney about shootings: "It was like everyone was there working for me and it was so cool. Everyone was so nice".
Britney about video concept: "They had this really bizzare video idea, this animated Power Rangers thing. I said, 'This is not right. If you want me to reach four-year-olds, then, OK, but if you want me to reach my age group...' So i had this idea where we're in school and bored out of our minds, and we have Catholic uniforms on".
Britney about outfits: "The outfits looked kind of dorky, so I was like: 'Let's tie up our shirts and be cute'. It was about being a girl and knowing about the fashion".
Nigel Dick about Britney's idea of the video: "Jive wanted a cartoonish superhero theme. She genuinely wanted to go down that road. It wasn't like we pushed Britney into doing anything. Most of the time you have to hold her back a bit".

The provocative sequence of the video has became one of the most famous in the history of pop videos.
