Britney Spears signed a global marketing pact with "Pepsi-Cola" Company in the early beginning of 2001. The multiyear agreement included creative collaboration on new Pepsi television advertising and co-sponsorship of a worldwide concert tour. Her first TV commercial for "The Joy Of Pepsi" debuted during the Academy Awards on March 25.
Spears and Pepsi also worked beyond TV advertising and included point-of-purchase materials, consumer promotions and hyperlinks to their respective websites.
Britney said about Pepsi deal: "I'm a big fan of Pepsi products and Pepsi commercials. My life and my career have been blessed. The chance to follow some of my heroes and create something new with the innovative people at "Pepsi" is very exciting for me." Pepsi's senior vice president of strategy and marketing said: "She's youthful, inventive, optimistic and fun-loving - the ultimate fit with brand Pepsi".
The first Britney's Pepsi commercial was the longest ever in the Pepsi history. It was shown worldwide.

 

 

2001: "Video Music Awards"

Britney Spears shocked the nation when she took the stage to perform her then-new single, "I'm a Slave 4 U." The show and the performance was highly promoted by Britney herself. Appearing in a TV advertisement Britney played some hilarious jokes with the show's host, turning on the sound of her new single louder.

Britney also appeared on a printed version of this ad for the "Video Music Awards 2001".

 

 

2002: "Pepsi Generations"

"Pepsi Generations", the second ad for Britney Spears with Pepsi. "Pepsi Generations" debuted during the "Superbowl" show on February 3. The 90-second ad, dubbed "Now & Then," took viewers on a ride through Pepsi's advertising history - the "Pepsi Generations". Spears starring in Pepsi commercials with '50s, '60s, '70s, and '80s themes, rocking all the way up to 2002 with her updated version of the "Joy Of Pepsi" song. The spot was created by Pepsi's longtime advertising agency, BBDO in New York.
Britney favourites were "Doo Wop", "Surf's Up" and "New Millenium" parts of the commercial. TV broadcasted full and short versions of "Now & Then".

 

 

2002: "Pepsi Blue X-Mas"

In the end of 2002 Britney took part in another TV-commercial for the brand new "Pepsi Blue" This time it was both TV and print advertisement. "Pepsi Blue" was also released in some countries as a limited edition during Christmas time, including Mexico and Costa Rica. In the TV advertisement Britney holds up a Pepsi and wishes everybody a happy "Pepsi Blue" Christmas. Duration of this short clip is 10 seconds.
Britney also presented Christmas' Pepsi campaign in printed version, turning into a Santa Claus in a blue dress with Pepsi drink in hands.

 

 

2002: "S?msung"

"Samsung" was sponsoring Britney Spears "Dream Within A Dream" concert tour that kicked off in May in Las Vegas. As part of the deal, Spears's tour was used as a vehicle to promote "Samsung's" three new wireless phones: the models SGH-r225M, SPH-a500, and SPH-n400.
"Samsung" was promoting its sponsorship of Britney Spears's tour with radio ads in each concert market, as well as radio-based promotional contests that allowed winners to attend pre-concert soundchecks and to view the concert from a VIP suite. Winners were transported to and from the concerts via a Samsung-wrapped luxury bus.
The senior vice president of wireless terminals for Samsung said the following: "We believe that connecting Samsung's brand and products with Britney will resonate strongly with consumers. Britney has developed such a tremendous fan base through her passion for her music, her sense of style, and her energetic performances. These qualities make this a very exciting sponsorship for Samsung".
Britney appeared in a short TV advertisement for "Samsung". There were no any printed ads released.

 

 

2002: "HBO: Live From Las Vegas"

Britney Spears came to HBO in fall of 2002 for an exclusive live music event - "Britney Spears: Live from the MGM Grand Las Vegas", where she performed her first live television concert of "Dream Within A Dream" tour. She featured all-new songs from her album "Britney" as well as many of her greatest hits from 2 previous albums.
Britney appeared in a special teaser where she presented her concert adopted Elvis Presley's wardrobe. "I'm a Slave 4 U" song was playing during it. Speaking about this commercial Britney said in an exclusive interview for ABC Radio: "I am a really, really big Elvis fan. And I think the real reason why we did the whole Elvis thing is because, you know, he's from Vegas. And I always thought it would be really, really fun. My family - we're all really big Elvis fans."
The length of the teaser is 26 seconds and it was included to her VHS/DVD "Britney: The Videos".

 

 

2002: "Pepsi Twist"

Britney's Austin Powersin Goldmember-themed "Pepsi Twist" television commercial made its debut on May 19 during the finale of "Survivor: Marquesas" on CBS.
In this commercial, which was set at a crowded party, Austin Powers (Mike Myers) discovers that Spears' Pepsi isn't really what it seems - it's a "Pepsi Twist". Then he uses his astounding investigative skills to determine Spears' true identity, uncovering more than he bargained for.
Pepsi Twist's marketing campaign with "Austin Powers In Goldmember" also included Internet advertising, in-store promotions, and an exclusive interactive experience in Simon Property Group malls nationwide.
This campaign also sponsored the second leg of Britney's "Dream Within A Dream" tour.
