2006: Life & Achievements
In January Britney Spears renewed her limelight life style. A glowing singer snuggled up to husband Kevin Federline at Los Angeles "Screen Actors Guild Awards". After reports that
the superstar was fed up with her other half's partying and had arranged for his prized Ferrari to be towed away, the couple looked keen to show that all is well in the Spears-Federline mansion. The pop princess chose a cute cocktail dress that showed off the slim line figure she's been busy sculpting since the birth of Sean Preston.
The next month a Louisiana native celebrated Mardi Gras in New Orleans, when the devastated city hoped to revive some its old partying ways after Hurricane Katrina. Britney appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" live from New Orleans, and spent part of Mardi Gras with a group of students whose lives were upended when the hurricane devastated the area six months ago. The girls sat down to breakfast with City Councilman, thinking they were there to discuss the effects of Katrina. Then Spears walked in, greeted with squeals. Britney took the girls shopping and to dine at one of
the restaurants for some Southern comfort food, including fried chicken, red beans and rice. There, the conversation turned from shopping to Katrina. Spears gave them fleur-de-lis pins on blue ribbons.
Right after Mardi Gras new rumors were spreading around the media. The pop star rushed to a Malibu hospital, and some reports claimed that it was because of the singer's pregnancy. "Star" magazine reported that Britney and her husband Kevin expecting a second child. But her rep refused to comment this rumor.
In the end of March Britney made an appearance on "Will & Grace" sitcom. In the storyline, "Out TV," the network on which series regular Sean Hayes, as Jack McFarland, hosts his talk show Jack Talk, has been bought by a right-wing conglomerate and some changes had to be made, including a co-host, to widen the audience. Britney appeared as Amber Louise and she was really funny. On the set the singer was skilled as a comedic actress.
In April Britney released a clip of a new song for her fan club members. The song, titled as "Little Me," was dedicated to her little sister and it was set to a video of Britney dancing in a studio. Also her new third fragrance, "In Control," went on sale as limited edition.
Britney beat the tabloids at their own game on May 9, dropping in on a taping of television's "Late Show with David Letterman" to announce that she was pregnant with her second child. Spears' brief visit was a surprise to the studio audience. Celebrity magazines and tabloids have speculated for weeks that Spears was expecting another child, but the Louisiana-born performer seized a moment of her own to announce her pregnancy on national television. The second pregnancy meant that all Britney's plans to renew her career were postponed.
But the pregnancy didn't stop the marriage troubles for the singer. More than 70 days Britney and Kevin were not seen together on public. Divorce rumors sparkled again, however Kevin said that all stories in tabloids are totally fabricated and everything was fine between the two.
An emotional and candid interview with NBC's Matt Lauer aired on June 15. Britney Spears told about the state of her marriage, motherhood, the tabloids criticism, about her skills as a mom, and why the paparazzi gone too far. Despite the tabloids reports of trouble on the home front, Spears shared with Lauer that her marriage with Federline was "awesome", and that the reports of Kevin living in the basement were false. She told about why she loved him. Britney also opened up about the incident on Pacific Coast Highway where she was photographed with her son, Sean, on her lap. Towards the end of the interview, Spears had got very emotional when she asked paparazzi to leave her alone. However, not so many people believed in an "awesome" state of her marriage.
In August Britney posed naked and pregnant for the cover of "Harper's Bazaar", with her hair dyed black and her arms strategically covering her privates. Later in the month, Britney introduced Kevin Federline on the "Teen Choice Awards", and his performance of "Lose Control" was universally ridiculed.
Britney Spears gave birth to her second child on September 12, just two days before Sean Preston's birthday. A baby boy was born just before 2 a.m. at "Cedars-Sinai Medical Center" in Los Angeles. The child was delivered via a scheduled C-section. A month after birth Britney revealed a baby's name - it's Jayden James.
Right after the birth Kevin Federline flew to Las Vegas, where he had spent the weekend partying. He booked a table at "TAO" nightclub for both nights where he knocked back "Veuve Clicquot" champagne and passed around the requisite cigars to celebrate his son's birth. He was surrounded by women. Britney and Kevin were spending more time apart. Spears, for her part, hit Vegas clubs "Pure" and "TAO" with her friends.
On November 6, sporting a blonde bob and a short black dress that showed off her newly svelte shape, the new mom surprised the host of Late Show by walking onstage behind him as he was sitting at his desk. And on November 7, citing "irreconcilable differences", Britney Spears filed for divorce. The legal papers were filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and Spears asked for both legal and physical custody of the couple's two children. Spears gave the date of separation as November 6, the same day she flaunted her incredible revamped physique during a surprise appearance on
David Letterman's show. Spears has hired powerhouse celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has repped a number of celebrities. Britney's shock decision to file for divorce came after a weekend of heartache sparked when she was left to eat alone at a New York restaurant. The pop princess was left in tears at her table as she waited for husband on November 2. Kevin Federline has responded to his wife's divorce petition and asked for legal and physical custody of the couple's children. In the response Kevin asked the judge to award Spears visitation and also asked the court to award him spousal support. This meant the bitter battle between Britney and Kevin for the custody of their sons. Right after divorce Britney was in earnest about returning to the studio to record her comeback album and touring. But this was just an illusion. In two weeks Spears hit Las Vegas spending some quality time with the hotel heiress Paris Hilton. The two, who have known each other casually over the years, took the town by storm, hitting a host of casino clubs for dancing and general single-girl style merriment. And it only took Britney one night of hanging out with Paris to start running around without her pants. The newly-liberated pop star enjoyed wild girls nights out dancing, laughing and smoking. Then they hit the clubs together in Los Angeles almost every night over the holiday week. And this led to some shocking headlines - Britney Spears was flashing her private parts three separate times! The exposes were observed by dozen photographers outside the car.
After this incident Britney has been told by her people that if she ever wants a comeback, she has to stay far away from Paris and start acting like an adult. Britney called Paris and said she had decided not to be seen in public with her for now and posted a message on her official site: "I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets' new underwear line!"

2007: Life & Achievements
Britney Spears celebrated the New Year at "Pure" nightclub in Las Vegas. She hosted two countdowns to usher in the New Year - one inside the VIP-section at the hip hot nightspot and a second up on the club's upper outdoor terrace overlooking the famed Vegas Strip where fireworks were shot off from seven casino-hotel rooftops. Then about an hour later
she has discussed calling the night early as she was seated on a cabana bed reserved for VIP guests. As she rose to her feet she fainted. When the 12-strong security phalanx was in place, two of her dancers wrapped Britney in what appeared to be a blanket-hooded poncho. Literally carrying her in both arms, they managed to propel her through the crowds and out of the club. Her spokespersons denied that she fainted but the news was widely reported by media.
Several days after New Year Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have mutually agreed to a custody arrangement, having joint legal custody of their two children. Kevin's physical custody was extremely limited. He was allowed to be with the children from 12:00p.m to 4:00p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Spears' residence. Under the agreement, Spears could be present, but no one may interfere with Federline's right to be with the children.
Meanwhile Britney Spears has found a new love, 25-year-old male model and actor Isaac Cohen. He was a striking resemblance to Spears' estranged husband Kevin Federline and dressed in a similar style, favoring low-slung jeans and a kerchief on his head. The couple has been dating for several weeks, but decided to finish their relationship to be just friends.
Since the end of January Kevin Federline had been urging his estranged wife Britney Spears to get into rehab. First he tried threatening to take away the kids, and then he tried pleading with her to take care of herself. He even teamed up with his former mother-in-law in an effort to convince the singer to get help. But Britney continued her wild times. And in February she did it like never before! She has been hitting clubs night after night and couldn't stop.
On February 15 Britney Spears entered a rehab center at the urging of her family and friends, who were concerned about her hard-partying ways. However she refused to stay and checked out one day later. On February 16 Britney Spears went to a hair salon on Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando Valley. She was crying in the car for ten minutes before she went inside. She walked in "Esther's Hair Salon" and said she wanted to shave her head. The owner refused to help Spears, because she feared being sued if she was to help the clearly troubled singer ruin her public image. So Britney grabbed the clippers and did the shaving herself. Then she headed to "Body & Soul Tattoo" in the San Fernando Valley to make something real small on her wrist, and then returned home.
In 3 days after shaving her head Britney Spears returned to rehab. "Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time," the singer’s rep said in a statement. She stayed at "Promises Treatment Center" in Malibu, attended private counseling sessions and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. The main reason of her emotional breakdown was post-partum depression. She was angry at her family and her manager for pressuring her to enter the program. She felt she was ambushed. During her staying Kevin visited her with kids. Federline and his mother, along with Spears' mother Lynne, have all came together to care for the couple's children while Spears was recovering in rehab.
After almost a month of seclusion in an oceanfront rehabilitation center, Britney Spears has moved on. The pop star checked out of "Promises" facility after successfully completing their program on March 21. Right after "Promises" Britney started to renew her career, attending "Millennium Dance Complex" almost every day.
In the end of April Britney Spears was scheduled to perform at the "House of Blues" under the band name The M+M's on May 1. The idea of this comeback tour has been in the works many months before Britney entered rehab, but was delayed due to her stint there. The purpose of the tour was for Britney to reconnect with her fans. Everyone heard these rumors. Even when Britney's tour bus arrived at the venue, there was still the chance that she might pull the plug at the last minute. At around 10 p.m. - three hours after doors opened - people's hopes were realized. Spears took the stage in a long brown wig, silver beaded bra, pleated white miniskirt and white boots and performed several old hits.
In the middle of July Britney Spears was shooting a top-secret video in Los Angeles. The singer has sworn her aides, friends and backing dancers to secrecy about the project. According to rumors Britney was shooting a video for the song called "Freakshow".
On July 30, Britney Spears' marriage to Kevin Federline was officially ended. Court Commissioner signed orders for dissolution of marriage, an alimony agreement and child custody. According to a Court Commissioner the best interests of the children could be harmed if the arrangement were not sealed. The child custody order was tentatively sealed, pending an August 14 hearing. However, Spears and Federline weren't present for the hearing. Court Commissioner scheduled another hearing for September 14 to give ex-couple's attorneys time to make their case for keeping the documents under seal.
