When Reg Jones met Britney Spears she was just the kid sister of a football buddy, running around the house in a T-shirt and her underwear. She acted herself really young and Reg never thought he would be dating her in a few years. While Britney was in "The New Mickey Mouse Club", Jamie worked far from home, mother Lynn was with Britney in Orlando and Bryan was a host of the house. They hold some big parties in Spears house, so Reg slept in Britney's couch long before he started going out with her.
When Britney returned home, Reg was dating Stacey Satham. After he and Stacey had broken up, Britney's mother Lynn told him that Britney had got a crush on him. Britney was fourteen and he was seventeen at that time. Reg was apprehensive about the age difference, but decided to ask Britney to come to a "Homecoming Dance" with him. She said that he needed to speak with her father. Jamie told him that if he was going to take her out, she was going to be in his care then he needed to treat her right and keep his baby girl safe.
They were already a young couple by the time of the "Homecoming Dance" in September. The first "date" saw Reg turning up at Britney's house with a couple of movie videos under his arm, Lynn cooked supper, then they cooled popcorn, he put in the movie and they all sat round and watched it as a family.
The pairing of Reg and Britney quickly became the hot topic of corridor conversation at "Parklane Academy." On a "Homecoming Dance" Britney wore a pretty black evening gown which she didn't quite fill. Reg wore spectacles and a blazer. They danced the night away to a disco of eighties favorites including Michael Jackson and Madonna.
At the early stage of relationship a kiss goodnight would be a little peck on the cheek. The first proper kiss they exchanged was after Britney had failed her driving license test. The moment Reg heart she had missed out, he sent round a bunch of roses with the message on the card with words "I love you." On a party at their friend's house Britney grabbed Reg next to the pool and thanked for the roses. Standing on her tiptoes, Britney gave Reg a really sweet kiss.
For a while Reg and Britney enjoyed the perfect teenage romance. When Britney was 15 she even accompanied Reg on his senior trip - something every student did in their final year before graduation. They were really in love. He even bought her a ring and a pretty necklace while she picked out his clothes. He always paid for everything. They both went to see "Titanic" at the cinema in Hammond. The movie was so emotional, that Britney cried her way through a whole box of tissues. He even bought for Britney her own little dog, She had set her heart on a little Shih Tzu. She was really thrilled about it. Reg also gave Britney his "letterman" jacket as a recognition of her status as his girlfriend.
After Britney signed her contract with "Jive Records" she left Kentwood and flew to Stockholm. Britney returned home with 6 tracks. At this stage she was not contemplating a future without Reg Jones. He was there when Lynn came to meet Britney at New Orleans airport and he sat beside her on the drive back to Kentwood. The first thing Britney decided when 
she returned home was that she wanted Reg to come to New York with her. There he had a real big trouble on his first day. There he couldn't find a roommate he was supposed to stay with, so he went to Britney's apartment, but Felicia would not let him in. She told him he couldn't come, but Britney started crying so they called Lynn who let Reg stay.
In New York Britney was frustrated with Reg. She wanted him to find a job and he couldn't. Living in New York was such a culture shock for him. Later he found a job in Italian Restaurant, where he was responsible for opening the wine bottles. During his break in the middle of the day he would go and watch Britney rehearse with her dancers. She would be going out on tour.
Britney had never tried to airbrush Reg Jones out of the picture. She had introduced him to everyone in New York, had taken him to dinner with Larry Rudolph at the restaurant, and she even wanted him to be a part of her video "...Baby One More Time," but they had an argue and he was replaced by her cousin.
Once before one of her shows Britney's father and Reg turned up drunk. Britney had warned Reg not to drink. She was less than amused when she could smell alcohol on Reg's breath before the concert.
Reg's broke-up with Britney was really stupid. Reg was convinced that Justin pursued Britney right from the beginning - she was on tour with him and the rest guys from 'N Sync. There were many rumors about Britney and Justin relationships. Britney was still coming home every few weeks but she and Reg were getting along less well. He felt that Justin was trying to persuade Britney or do whatever it took to get her to be with him instead of Reg.
One afternoon in early spring 1999, when Britney was at home, Reg popped into her house. She was sitting on the sofa and talking to Justin on the phone. He demanded to know who she was talking to. She said it wasn't his business. Reg called her fucking bitch and slammed the door. It was a horrible way to end relationship, because she was his friend and his girlfriend.
Later Britney told that the problem with Reg was that he had become insecure and that she had just woken up one day and the magic had gone. She also admitted that she had been over heels in love. However he receives a mention in the acknowledgments of her first album before being consigned to history. He can never put Britney on the back on his mind. There is no escape from her now. He still wishes he had been able to show more trust.
Reg has never admitted that he and Britney slept together, which has won him many admires, however his friends remain convinced that they slept together.
Since then Reg has not had any serious girlfriend, however, he dated a girl named Brittany.
