In the beginning of 2003 Britney was linked with Irish actor Colin Farrell, who was quickly becoming one of the hottest man in Hollywood. Farrell was developing a reputation as a ladies' man.
Britney was seen kissing Farrell in various nightclubs and on the "Recruit" party they held hands as they walked down the red carpet together, stopping to pose for paparazzi. The party was held at the trendy "Chateau Marmont" in Los Angeles. They kept on disappearing out on the balcony. Then they went into one of the adjoining bedrooms where they stayed for at least an hour. Britney left the party at 5 a.m., but Colin carried on partying.
They had been on a couple of dates, including one where she visited the set of his new movie S.W.A.T. However he denied that he and Britney had relationship, "She is a sweet, sweet girl but there's nothing going on." Britney said that they just kissed, adding with a smile, that Farrell was such a "bad boy," "Me and Colin had fun but I’m not the kind of person to date. I know if I like you or if I don't. It's either there or not. I don’t want a boyfriend right now. I'm just having fun and work is my hobby. "
She also said of the Irish star, "He projects bad boy, but I think he's adorable. I've met his mother and sister and they're so nice. He's absolutely, insanely gorgeous. We talked on the phone, but we were just friends, nothing serious. Did we hook up? We had like a peck! Make out? I wish!"
Colin was in the fourth row at the pop star's Los Angeles concert on March 8, 2003. He hit the concession stand before the show and bought a few beers. He danced as much as he could during the two-hour concert (he injured his right foot in February) and paid a visit backstage afterward (as did Brittany Murphy, Hilary Duff,AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and Ray Romano). Farrell wasn't hoping for anything more than a hello. He knew she's very young... so he tried to be careful. Farrell brought several pals and his actress sister Catherine to the show.
