New album in the works?

Looks like all those trips to the recording studio as of late aren't "just for fun," as her re-hired manager Larry Rudolph has publicly stated. According to The Sun, Britney is determined to release a studio album late this year, and has been amazing in the studio: "impressive demos from recent studio work reignited their faith and they are confident she can crush aging Whitney in a titanic Christmas LP scrap."
A label source said: "Britney has been on fire in the studio of late. During recording sessions for the last album she was consumed by her chaotic private life. But she is determined to make a triumphant comeback. Top brass have been amazed by the quality of tracks they've heard."
Looks like we'll have to wait and see. I'd prefer a simple "Blackout" re-release while she continues her path of healing. 2 new singles, a remix, new photoshoot and wa-la. Wonder what tricks Britney's got up her sleeve.

 

Britney Spears looks for a new home nearer to her boys

Britney Spears is on the hunt for a new home again.
The pop star is reportedly planning to buy a $6 million mansion in Encino, California.
Spears spent Wednesday afternoon looking around the five-bedroom property, which is situated close to her ex-husband Kevin Federline's home in nearby Tarzana.
The house Spears looked at comes with fountains, a jacuzzi, a swimming pool with a spa and a wine cellar. The move to the Valley makes sense for Spears, who was awarded added custody of her two young sons earlier this week.

 

Britney's trainer impressed with pop star's fitness

Britney Spears has left her trainer stunned by her work-out schedule, which has helped her shed 15 poundsin four weeks. Marc Corliss insists the pop superstar is among his best ever clients because she does everything he tells her to do and works out on her own.
The pop star has become a regular at Hollywood's Bally's gym, where she often works out with her father Jamie, and Corliss is impressed by her work ethic.
He tells Life & Style magazine, "She's hell-bent on getting a rocking midsection again. She's been training hard for the past four weeks, doing about 500 or so abdominal exercises every day. And she's seeing a major difference already."
Corliss reveals Spears is also doing an hour of interval training, like sprinting mixed with weight training, four days a week.
He adds, "She's a real go-getter, super upbeat and fun to be around. She's motivated and positive; she's definitely on the right track. I'm training her the way I would train an athlete. With her dance background, she's already in better shape than most people."
The personal trainer also reveals that Spears likes to workout to her favourite radio shows on pop and hip-hop station 107.2, which often plays her hits.

 

Inside Jamie Lynn's baby shower!

With Britney Spears embroiled in a seemingly neverending custody battle and 17-year-old sis Jamie Lynn Spears expecting her first child very soon, it's hard to imagine a family under more scrutiny these days than the Spears clan.
But in spite of all the outside pressure on them, it was nothing but good times for the Spears sisters when they reunited on May 2 for the Zoey 101 star's baby shower.
"It was wonderful to be able to spend time with her and just be girls again," Jamie Lynn told OK! in an exclusive interview about seeing her sister for the first time in months. "We painted our nails and did stupid stuff."
Even better, explains Jamie Lynn, was that she was able to have some one-on-one time with Brit: "To be able to be in the privacy of our own home and just be sisters again was wonderful."
Mother-of-two Britney even shared some words of wisdom with her pregnant sibling. "She told me, 'There are going to be some long nights, but it is completely worth it,'" Jamie Lynn recalls to OK!.
As for whether or not the pop superstar will make it back home to Louisiana when Jamie Lynn has the baby, the teen star tells OK!, "Nothing is set in stone, but that would be wonderful. I'd love to have her here for that, but you can't plan that far ahead."
Even if Brit isn't there in person for her younger sister, the two are in almost-constant contact, says Jamie Lynn.

Britney's visitation "expanded"

For the first time in months, sparring exes Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were both in a California courtroom to discuss matters in their ongoing custody battle. And at the end of the day, her efforts were worth it, as lawyers confirm that her current agreement with K-Fed has been expanded.
"Kevin's goal has always been for two parents to participate actively in their lives,"
his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said after the hearings adjourned this afternoon. "But when that will occur, I can't tell you that."
According to Kaplan, there has been no change in the custodial orders, but after hours of closed-door chats, there has been "an expansion, which is a function of recognition of progress made."
While no more specifics were given about what exactly has been expanded, insiders are saying it definitely means that Britney will be spending more time with her two sons than her current two to three brief visits during the week. And perhaps, suggest the insiders, Brit might be given a chance to have an occasional monitored, overnight visit from her sons.
"This represents a step going forward," added Kaplan, "A cautious step, but a step nonetheless."
In a joint statement to the press, Britney's parents echoed this sentiment: "We are so pleased with britney's progress," said Jamie and Lynne Spears. "And we very much appreciate the court's recogntition of her progress."
Early this morning, Britney, looking her best in a brown and white polka-dot dress and straightened blonde locks, waited patiently in a holding area until around 9:37 am PT while Commissioner Scott Gordon dealt with matters in other cases.
When their case was finally called, the superstar entered the courtroom with her mom, Lynne and father Jamie, who sat in the back row. They were joined by Blair Berk, the lawyer who represents Britney's father. Both Brit and Kevin, decked out in a beige suit, gold earrings and pinky ring, were sworn in by Gordon.
According to a witness in the courtroom, when Brit-Brit was asked to state her name for the record, she whispered, almost inaudibly, "Britney." Gordon had to instruct her further to give her full name.
Almost immediately after being sworn in, Britney's lawyer asked that the court be closed to the public and the request was granted by Jordan.
Around 10:25 am PT, there was a break in the action and Brit — guarded by a group of six imposing men — headed to the ladies room.
Not much later, a rep for the court announced that both parties had entered into a private discussion outside of the courtroom, and that a "compromise" was being hammered out. Presumably, today's "expansion" is a result of these discussions.

Britney Spears blew off a little pre-courtroom steam Monday at the Alicia Keys concert.
Expected to attend a Tuesday progress review hearing in Los Angeles family court with her ex, Kevin Federline, Spears decided to have a little fun first.
The singer arrived at the Staples Center at 8:30 p.m. with mom Lynne, her assistant, and two bodyguards and parked in an underground VIP parking lot to avoid photographers. There was no sign of sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who just celebrated her baby shower with her big sis in Kentwood, La., last weekend.
Spears – who according to one onlooker looked pretty and seemed psyched to be there – missed the opening act, Ne-Yo, but got there in time to clap when Keys took the stage and to get up and bop to the tunes.

 

With help from Britney, Jamie Lynn celebrates at baby shower

It was a family affair Saturday as mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears was feted with an intimate baby shower in Kentwood, La.
About 30 guests were invited – including big sis Britney – to Kentwood for a ladies-only, catered celebration for the 17-year-old at the family's Serenity mansion. (Spears hadn't been back to her hometown since her aunt's funeral early last year.)
"Jamie Lynn opened every gift," says a source, adding that mom Lynne and fiancé Casey Aldridge's mother lent a hand. "We all sat in a circle and she opened gifts and thanked every person. It was just a good old fashioned baby shower."
In March, the Zoey 101 star registered for baby booty at Babies "R" Us.
Though sheriff's deputies were posted at the gate and paparazzi circled in helicopters, "it was a normal shower," says the source. "A wonderful, sweet occasion."

 

Britney Spears offers advice to Miley Cyrus

Britney Spears has reportedly offered her advice on being a young star to Miley Cyrus. Cyrus is currently in the center of photo scandal. The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star says she is “embarrassed” of the Vanity Fair photo shoot in which she appears to be partially nude.
Sources claim that Spears, who is no stranger to bad media attention, has reached out to Cyrus and offered her support.
“Britney is all too aware of the pressures of being famous so young and of having to maintain the image of a role model,” says an insider. “She has offered Miley her support and advice should she need it.”

 

What to expect at custody hearing

With her little sis about to pop, Britney Spears has her sights set on home this weekend.
Sources on the scene tell E! News the "Toxic" singer---with dad Jamie vigilantly in tow---is back in Louisiana today for Jamie Lynn's baby shower, which is taking place Saturday at Lynne Spear's home in Kentwood.
Britney is said to be bunking at mom's house, where security personnel have set up shop and police are blocking entrance to their street.
This is Brit's first trip back to her hometown since last fall, when she became embroiled in her current—and, can you believe it, increasingly less bizarre—custody battle.
Which, as it's so wont to do, will require Britney's presence back in Los Angeles on Tuesday, when she's expected to attend the latest custody hearing in this ongoing process, this one to address the results of a court-ordered 730 psych evaluation.
E! News caught up with Kevin Federline legal eagle Mark Vincent Kaplan last night and he filled us in on what to expect in Britney's near custodial future.
First off, while he presumed Federline would attend, Kaplan said he didn't know for certain whether K-Fed's ex-missus would put in an appearance at Tuesday's hearing, what would be her first since she circled the courthouse in February without actually going in.
"She's not required to be there—neither party is required to be there," Kaplan explained. "I think that when you're asking the court to consider your custodial position it has to look like it's important enough for you to be there. And I think she gets that, I think Jamie Spears gets that, and I would anticipate that they would act consistently with that. Especially if this is something that is a new era if you will."
In the meantime, the attorney continues to praise Jamie Spears' involvement in his daughter's and grandkids' life, noting everything that's been "not happening" since Britney's monitored-visitation privileges were restored in late February.
"Consistency over time is what's important, and structure, stability," he said. "It appears now that at least for the past couple of months that we have that."
"Boredom from a custodial standpoint is a good thing. Not be sensational, not being in the public eye, that's a good thing. And, certainly since the conservatorship in February, that looks like that’s the status quo there."
"The fact that the paparazzi onslaught in no way threatens the safety of Britney and the kids, I think that's a really positive thing," Kaplan continued. "That imposes a danger to the children when she is not driving and the daily 24-hour vigil of the media seems to have been something that is of a bygone era."
For his part, Federline is feeling much more comfortable about the idea of sharing parenting duties on a more consistent basis with Britney, Kaplan said; but, he added, he still doesn't see a 50/50 split or overnight visits in the immediate future.
Federline's going to try to make sure that Sean Preston and Jayden James get to spend Mother's Day with the lady of the hour, Kaplan said. But, other than that, the longevity of their current arrangement remains up in the air.
"Is two months or three months a sufficient amount of time? Probably not, [but] it's certainly a good start. I think that before there would be a radical change in the structure now, there should be a gradual ramping up to increase time and if that goes well...and it's not a question of whether it goes well for Kevin or if it goes well for mom, but it's a question of whether it goes well for the minor children."

 

Britney's heading home for Jamie Lynn's baby shower!

Britney Spears is heading home today for a big reunion with her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, an insider tells Life & Style exclusively. The occasion? Jamie Lynn’s baby shower!
Britney is leaving LA today to arrive in Kentwood, La., in time for tomorrow’s baby shower at mom Lynne Spears’ house, Serenity. Britney was last seen in Kentwood in November 2006.
“The shower’s on Saturday at Lynne’s house,” the insider tells Life & Style.
“At first, Jamie [Brit’s dad and also her guardian these days] didn’t think it was a good idea for Brit to go. He thought it might create chaos in Kentwood, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to put Jamie Lynn — or Britney — in the middle of that.
“Britney can’t travel without Jamie’s permission, so she worked really hard to talk him into it; it was so important for her to be there for her little sister. He finally gave in, knowing it’d be good for Brit and Jamie Lynn to finally see each other.”

 

Britney's behavior has cost her $61 million!

When Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, was named her co-conservator on February 1, he took over her financial affairs. But after going through her books, Jamie must have learned just how much of a toll Britney’s crazy behavior, which started in February 2007 when she shaved her head, has had on her bank account — she’s lost nearly $61 million. “It’s staggering how much money has been used up,” a family friend says.
In addition to the enormous tab for legal bills, rehab and psychiatric care, Britney’s inability to work has cost her a fortune. “By not touring for her last album [Blackout], she lost out on $50 million,” estimates Robert Bianchi, an LA-based CPA who isn’t an accountant for Britney. Jamie hired his own accountants to sort out the money mess and bring an end to the 26-year-old’s excessive spending. “It’s been quite a challenge getting things under control,” the insider says. Luckily, as Britney’s mental health improves, so does her bottom line. “She’s spending about a fifth of what she used to,” the insider adds.

 

Britney Spears gets the kids for Mother's Day

Britney Spears has been given the perfect Mother's Day gift--a day with her kids.
Thanks to continued improvements in the pop star's relationship with ex-husband Kevin Federline, the rapper/dancer has agreed to let Sean Preston and Jayden James spend May 11 with their mom.
Federline was given full custody of the kids after Spears staged a standoff with police, emergency services officials and childcare experts when she refused to hand over her sons after a scheduled visitation in January.
The couple has been battling the custody order ever since, but now Federline appears to have cooled on the issue--and he's agreeing to let Spears spend more time with their sons.
A family friend tells Life & Style magazine that Federline is considering granting his ex overnight visits with the kids, after Spears filed a formal request with the courts.
The insider says, "He hasn't said yes yet, but he's considering it."
And whereas Federline once reportedly dreaded phone chats with his ex, sources claim the couple has become friendly, with the rapper calling her his "lady" and Spears ending calls by telling her former husband that she loves him.
One pal tells Life & Style, "It's such a huge change. It hasn't been like this between them in forever."

 

How Britney Spears gets fit!

Driving away from a Bally Total Fitness gym in Culver City, Calif., recently, Britney Spears was smiling from ear to ear — and with good reason. The singer has been sweating up a storm in an attempt to get in shape, and thanks to three-times-a-day workouts and a five-small-meals-a-day diet, Britney, 26, is already on her way to getting back her sexy body.
"We're very excited to see Britney using our clubs so often and enjoying her workouts," Bally's chief marketing officer John Wildman tells OK!. "She's taking advantage of our personal-training and nutritional programs and getting great results. She's working extremely hard on both programs."
Now Brit is working with Bally's trainer Mark Corlis, an insider tells OK!. "She's doing really well with him," the source says. "Mark doesn't cut Britney any slack. He doesn't baby her, and that's why she likes him."
Britney's exercise program is called Active Recovery. That's when you work each muscle group intently for a short period of time until you exhaust it, moving — without resting — from muscle group to muscle group. The mother of two is doing it a couple of times each day, followed by late-night cardio at home.
That final workout is key to Britney's routine because she's burning off her last meal before going to sleep.
The junk-food junkie has also taken a new approach to eating. Her five small meals a day have cut her daily total caloric intake down by about 1,000 calories. The good news? She can still eat many of the foods she loves, including pasta and pizza, but in much smaller portions.
And that's a good thing because OK! has learned that her goal is to go from her current approximate weight of 133 pounds down to 118 over a sensible three months. "Britney carries a lot of muscle, so she is never going to be one of those 100-pound girls," the source tells OK!.

 

Britney Spears inspires odd art show

 Britney Spears' number one hits have been turned into art pieces for a new Arizona exhibition.
Current and former Arizona State University graduate students have created a series of mixed media exhibits inspired by 11 Spears chart-toppers.
The Number Ones show, which opens on Friday at the LAS Gallery in Phoenix, will feature video, photographic and mixed media inspired by Spears' biggest hits.
One piece, a sexy apron made from a lace tablecloth, was inspired by 2000 hit "Oops!... I Did It Again".
Artists Mindy Sue Meyers, who admits to being a big fan of the troubled pop superstar, says, "The stitching on the apron offers a different identity to what would be a normal, homemaker apron. This is a duality that I think Britney has struggled with since she became a pop star."
For another exhibit, inspired by Spears' first hit "...Baby, One More Time", artist Nick DeFord has depicted a smiling Spears using black and blue push pins on a corkboard.

 

Britney returns on "How I Met Your Mother" on May 12

Entertainment Tonight confirms Britney Spears will be returning to the CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother," for an episode scheduled to air May 12.
"We're all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again. And just to head it off at the pass this time around: Yes, Mom, Britney's very nice and no, I can't get her autograph for you," executive producer Craig Thomas says.
Britney will be reprising her role as Abby the receptionist. Production on the episode begins today.

In 2008, Britney Spears guest-starred on CBS's television show How I Met Your Mother playing a receptionist. She received positive reviews for her performance as well as bringing in the series highest ratings ever. According to People Magazine, Spears will reprise her role in an upcoming episode.

Oddsmakers in Ireland have Britney Spears a favorite to appear on Desperate Housewives. Such a bet would pay €4 for every €1 bet.
The next likely show she'll be appearing on according to Paddy Power is Two and a Half Men at 5 to 1 odds, followed by Scrubs (a show Gambling911.com's own Carrie Stroup has appeared on) at 6 to 1 odds.
Doctor Who pays 12 to 1 odds. Fair City pays 500 to 1 odds.

Transformers star Megan Fox has been voted World's Sexiest Woman by the 9 million readers of FHM.com in its annual poll.
The 21-year-old is engaged to 35-year-old Brian Austin Green (see other couples with huge age gaps here).
Justin Timberlake's girlfriend, Jessica Biel, came in second place, while last year's winner, mom-to-be Jessica Alba, came in third.
Despite her personal and mental health woes, Britney Spears — who was named sexiest woman in 2004 – still managed to secure a spot: No. 100.

Lynne Spears denies giving interview to tabloid!

A tabloid magazine has just been published, claiming on its cover to have an "Exclusive Interview" with Lynne Spears. But Britney and Jamie Lynn's mom did not talk to the rag.
The magazine claims that in this so-called exclusive interview, Lynne admitted to being upset about 17-year-old Jamie Lynn's pregnancy. Well, OK! can tell you exclusively that this is anything but the truth.
Her spokesperson tells OK!: "When Lynne Spears is ready to give an interview I can assure you it will be a true account without speculation as to whether or not she participated."

 

Lynne Spears talks about Jamie, Britney as parents

Apparently taking a break from the drama stirred up by her superstar daughters, Lynne Spears gave an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview to Life & Style, which will publish its chat with her in next week's issue.
In the interview - which a press release from the publication called "emotional" - Spears dished about Britney's ongoing troubles and Jamie Lynn's unexpected pregnancy, and she pulls no punches about either (she also does a lot of praying, apparently).
"I pray for Britney every day to be a better mother," Spears told the publication. "She's gone through a lot of trauma, but she seems to be coming out of it - and it's showing in her relationship with the boys. They're really bonding."
Lynne and Britney ended their long estrangement in February when Brit left the UCLA Medical Center, and ever since then, the elder Spears (whom the magazine goes to great lengths to point out is "exhausted-looking") has been shuttling back and forth between Los Angeles - home of Britney and her two children - and Kentwood, Louisiana, where Jamie Lynn is staying.
Speaking of Jamie, Lynne Spears admitted that she was frustrated by her daughter's pregnancy - which was announced via an OK! magazine cover story back in December - but that she's relying on divine intervention to help her (and, we're assuming, her daughter) through.
"I'm a bit disappointed that my youngest daughter got pregnant at such an early age. All I can do is turn to God for answers and just leave it in his hands," she said.
But despite Jamie's young age, Lynne is certain that she will make "a wonderful mother." "She really has a way with children - she's a natural nurturer. I just wish she had waited a bit," she said.

 

Info about the Blackout re-release

This is just rumored information...
The lead single from Britney Spear's new album "Blackout Reedition" is an infectious, sassy, sexy and brilliant return to form. Among others, the song was written by Keri Hilson - who featured on Timbaland's "The Way I Are" single recently - and is very catchy and fun.
The song sees Spears encouraging a man to become more involved with her physically and romantically, no matter who is watching and also highlights the public's need to find out more about her current situation, particularly the song's title itself, "Helpful".
The song definitely leaves the listener wanting more and it will be interesting to see if Spears' album lives up to the excellence of this song.

 

Britney Spears not signed on for more sitcom

In the wake of online reports saying Britney Spears will be doing another episode of How I Met Your Mother, a source close to the pop star tell Us "Nothing is signed yet.”
The source adds: “No script has been written and until that is done, Britney will not be making a commitment. The offer is there but no decisions have been made at the moment."

CBS had no comment about her returning to the series. 

 

Neil Patrick Harris: "We'd be lucky to have Britney back"

Despite the fact that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris recently told reporters that his hit CBS sitcom "does not need stunt casting to succeed," the actor appears to have suddenly changed his tune about the reports that Britney Spears will be repeating her guest role on the show.
“I don’t know if it’s true or not," he tells Extra. "Nothing has been confirmed to me in any way, but we would be so lucky to have her. She was great fun the first time.”
And though he's been on the record to OK! about what a distraction it was to have the pop superstar on HIMYM, the former Doogie Howser star claims that it's all been taken out of context. "I’ve said all along that she was great on the show and she was and she was fun to be around," he continues. "We’re very protective of her while we’re making the show so there’s not a lot of dirt to be said.”

Larry Rudolph speaks about Britney Spears on Showbiz Tonight

ANDERSON: That`s Britney Spears` former manager, Larry Rudolph, telling SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that Britney Spears is in position for the biggest comeback in history.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson. Tonight, a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive interview with Britney Spears` former manager, Larry Rudolph. Now, Larry was right by Britney`s side throughout her massive worldwide success. But the two suddenly parted ways over a year ago just as Britney`s troubles were just getting started.
Now Larry, who is currently a judge on the hit MTV show “Rock the Cradle,” is back in her life and says that she`s doing better than ever.
I sat down with Larry, and we talked about what it was like for him to watch Britney fall and why he thinks she could come back bigger than ever.
ANDERSON: You really are known to have been the backbone of her career. And then you parted ways. It was said that you wanted to get her help. You wanted to get her into rehab. But then you parted ways. The downfall began, the head shaving, the VMA performance, the psych ward. Were you shaking your head in disbelief? Because you`ve been there; you`ve helped her all through the years.
RUDOLPH: Yes. You know, it was a difficult time, there`s no doubt about it. It was difficult for me to watch. I think it was difficult for everybody to watch who knew her. But she`s really strong, and she`s smart, and she`s pulling it together now in a great way. And I`m really happy to see it.
I mean - You know, look. Everybody goes through their rough times. And she went through a very rough time, and hopefully the roughest time she`ll ever have. I really see - I`ve been spending a little bit of time with her nonprofessionally.
I`ve just been spending some time with her over the past few weeks. And she`s been doing great like she`s in a much, much different place. And I think that`s all passed, and that`s all behind her.
ANDERSON: You know, on your MySpace page, it`s flooded with postings from people saying, “Larry, please help Britney. We need the old Britney back. Is she all right?” And you`re saying she is. And she`s going to come back stronger than ever.
RUDOLPH: Yes, I do believe that. I mean, look, the jury`s - the jury`s still out - I mean, it`s not there yet. I mean, be clear. You know, she`s well on her way. I mean, like, you know, I`m very, very happy with where she is now. I`ve had great conversations with her. She`s in a much different place than the last time I saw her.
You know, I hadn`t seen her in a year. And I had been watching what everybody else had been watching. And it was rough. And now it`s a lot better. A lot better.
ANDERSON: You said she could make the biggest comeback in history.
RUDOLPH: Right.
ANDERSON: How big do you think? And you have a lot of faith in her, don`t you?
RUDOLPH: Well, think about it. I mean, ultimately, if she - if it`s what she wants, and if she decides that she wants to get back into the recording studio, get back on a stage and put that all on again. If that`s the life that she wants and she gets back on a stage, for instance, think about what that would be.
To go see a Britney Spears show with her, you know, back in her prime and doing what she does best, at this point, I can`t imagine a hotter ticket in terms of a touring ticket. I mean, there`s no show that I`d rather see. You know, I think a lot of fans agree with that.
ANDERSON: A lot of fans would pay to see that, I`m sure. But what`s your strategy? Do you have a three-point plan to help her get back to where she can be?
RUDOLPH: There`s no strategy right now. There`s no business being discussed, and that`s the best way for now. It`s not about that right now. It`s not about business. It`s not about whether she makes another album, whether she goes on tour. Anything, I`m just talking, you know, what if.
Right now, it`s just about her sort of, you know, getting it back together, getting back to where she needs to be in her life, not her career.
ANDERSON: Sounds like Larry`s got a healthy plan in mind for Britney.
